Larceny complaint in Jefferson County results in arrest for local resident
WEST CARTHAGE- A North Country resident is faced with an accusation in the wake of a larceny complaint in Jefferson County, authorities say. Phillip M. Thomas, 37, of Carthage, NY was arrested Monday afternoon by the New York State Police (Carthage). Thomas is formally charged with one misdemeanor count of criminally possessing stolen property in the fifth-degree.

Some New Yorkers may be eligible for a free air conditioner through New York's expanded Essential Plan program early next year. "As part of Governor Hochul's recently announced Extreme Heat Action Plan, the State's Essential Plan will add coverage for the purchase, delivery and installation of air conditioners for members with persistent asthma," the state Department of Health said. "While this program is currently under development, we intend to perform consumer and provider education and outreach so members know about the benefit."
