    Monterey Park PD seeking information regarding missing teen girl

    On Tuesday, at approximately 9:36 p.m., the Monterey Park Police Department began a missing person investigation into the whereabouts of 15-year-old Alison Jillian Chao, described as an Asian female, approximately 5-foot-2, weighing approximately 96 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

    Monterey Park detectives, in cooperation with local, county, state, and federal partner agencies have been investigating this case. “We continue to work with the Chao family and are canvassing neighborhoods in the area, reviewing surveillance video footage, and interviewing possible witnesses,” Monterey Park police officials said in a statement.

    Chao left her home on Tuesday at approximately 5:32 p.m. in the 200 block of North Ynez Avenue in the City of Monterey Park. Video footage shows her last known whereabouts on Tuesday at 6:23 p.m. on the 4400 block of Collis Avenue in the city of Los Angeles’ El Sereno area. Chao was last seen wearing a purple T-shirt, black shorts, and dark shoes. She was riding a blue mountain bike and carrying a black backpack.

    The Monterey Park Police Department Investigations Bureau is investigating the incident. If anyone has information, contact the department at 626-573-1311.
