Bloomington man found dead inside vehicle
BLOOMINGTON (25News Now) - Bloomington Police are working to learn more about a man who was found dead in his vehicle over the weekend. According to police, an officer noticed a running sedan stopped along the guard way on Veterans Parkway just after 3:15 a.m. Sunday. When the officer looked at the vehicle, the driver appeared unconscious.
2024 Back to School Shoe Drive to Help Local Kids in Need
No kid should have to go back to school with shoes full of holes or NO SHOES AT ALL!. We are once again teaming with Country Financial Representative Melissa Isenburg to collect new athletic style shoes for kids from kindergarten through 12th grade. New plays from the Heartland Theatre Company…and a free workshop
The Heartland Theatre Company hosts an annual 10-minute play festival, recruiting some of the best work from writers all over the world. Normal’s wonderful theatre company also hosts a yearly call for new plays for the Mike Dobbins Memorial New Plays from the Heartland Festival. This year, the three winning one-act plays will have enhanced staged readings produced this weekend at the Heartland Theatre Company in Normal, Illinois. The winning plays are The Shill, by Gregory Mandryk out of Cleveland, Ohio (directed by Champaign-Urbana’s talented Douglas Malcolm); A Shop in the Darkness, by Troy, Michigan’s Jacquelyn Priskorn (directed by Natasha Warloe, of the Heartland Theatre Company); and Making Some Noise, by Claudia Haas out of Minnesota (directed by Tabitha Miller, familiar to fans of the Coalesce Theatre Project).
Uptown Normal pub celebrates 50 years
NORMAL (25News Now)—Pub II turned 50 this Saturday, and the business commemorated the milestone with a parking lot party. The pub opened in 1974 and has been a staple in the Normal community for five decades. Saturday’s party included a beer truck, live music, and their fan-favorite cheeseballs.

NEWPORT, Ill. (WFRV) – A southern Wisconsin man reportedly died after fleeing from police in Wisconsin and crashing into an SUV in Illinois. According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office in Illinois, on July 6 around 4:30 p.m., deputies responded to a reported crash with injuries. When authorities got to the scene, two vehicles were found with ‘major’ damage.
