HICKSVILLE, N.Y. (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — A pair of brothers were arrested on Friday after a fight with another man in a Long Island hotel parking lot escalated into a violent machete attack, Nassau County Police said.

The dispute between the brothers and a 43-year-old victim broke out just before 11 a.m. in the parking lot of a Hicksville Days Inn, located at 828 South Oyster Bay Rd.

Police said that the fight turned physical and Jelony Conze, 21, struck the victim with his 2005 Nissan Altima. He then exited the car, carrying a machete, and slashed the victim’s hands multiple times.

Conze’s brother, 23-year-old Adonin Omhari Conze, also jumped out of the car and punched the victim repeatedly in the face.

The brothers, who police said are unhoused, fled the location but were found nearby and placed under arrest.

The 43-year-old victim suffered severe lacerations to his hands and other injuries, and officials said he was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

Both brothers were charged with multiple counts of assault, and the younger Conze brother was also charged with second-degree attempted murder and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

They were arraigned in Nassau District Court in Hempstead on Saturday, where they both pleaded not guilty.

Bail was set at $100,000 cash, $200,000 insured bond or $125,000 partially-secured surety bond for Jelony Conze and $50,000 cash, $100,000 insured bond or $75,000 partially-secured surety bond for Adonin Omhari Conze.
