After 40-year ban, ‘happy hour’ returns to Indiana
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - As we turn the calendar to a new month, new laws are on the books now in the Hoosier state including “happy hour” returning after a 40-year ban. This new law allows bars and restaurants like the Auburn Brewing Company to sell alcoholic beverages at a reduced price for portions of the day.
Antwerp Village Allows Historic Depot to be Sold
In a special session of the Antwerp Village Council on June 27, coming out of a 28 minute executive session discussion, the council, in a split decision and tie breaking vote made by mayor Jan Reeb, decided to allow the the historic depot on West River Street to be sold. Offers by two companies for the depot building and the lot to the west, made to the Village Administrator Brian Davis was a large sum at $500,000.

Update On Area Northwest Ohio Rite Aid Closures
Rite Aids local to our area have stated they, along with all other Rite Aid stores in Ohio and Michigan will be closing. This information has not yet been confirmed directly from Rite Aid corporate, however, Rite Aid stores in both Fulton, Lucas, and Defiance Counties have informed The Village Reporter that they will indeed be closing. Furthermore, stores in Hillsdale County and Jackson County in Michigan have confirmed this as well.
