Highland Speedway Unveils Trio of First-Time Winners in Thrilling Race Night
Highland Speedway witnessed three drivers securing their first wins of the season, attracting a crowd of 98 cars and enthusiastic fans. Among the victors were Rick Salter in the O’Reilly Auto Parts Modified Division, Gary Walker in the Factory Stock Division, and Justin Adams in the Warrior Division. Maryland softball’s Sydney Lewis is one of more than 40 student-athletes to land an internship over the summer in conjunction with Maryland Made’s InTERPship Academy. Lewis, a rising junior studying communication, is interning with the Baltimore Orioles in their marketing and communication departments. She’s working with the Orioles for eight weeks, during which time she’s browsing through and shadowing various teams and learning about their operations.

The college basketball offseason continues, and Maryland fans have several new faces to familiarize themselves with ahead of the season. One of the new players is Malachi Palmer, part of Kevin Willard's two-man incoming high school recruiting class alongside five-star Derik Queen. Palmer is a native of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, though he played his last two seasons of high school basketball at Mt. Zion Prep in Lanham, Maryland.
