HIGHLAND PARK (WWJ) — A Highland Park man is behind bars after being charged with murder.

Paul Matthew Williams, 35, was arraigned Wednesday on felony murder and felony firearm charges, Michigan State Police officials announced.

MSP’s Second District Special Investigation Section was asked to investigate the murder of a 33-year-old man who was killed in the area of Woodward and McLean in Highland Park on Friday, July 19.

While authorities have not released many details about the incident — including the victim’s identity or how he was killed — SIS investigators identified Williams as the suspect.

No possible motive in the case was disclosed.

Williams was arraigned in the 30th District Court and was remanded to the Wayne County Jail.

Officials did not release any information about his next court date.
