Police say the driver of a truck was backing out of a parking spot, accelerated very abruptly and struck the man, who was walking out of the restaurant. That man died at the scene. Arrest made in connection to woman's murder
IRVING, Texas — A man has been arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of a woman in Irving, police said.On July 1, 2024, at approximately 6:15 a.m., officers responded to an "unknown" call for service in the 3100 block of Walnut Hill Lane. Upon arrival, they discovered 42-year-old Sucel Cuba Gomez, of Irving, Texas, deceased in the parking lot with multiple stab wounds. The suspect, 44-year-old Yunier Aldazabal, had fled the scene in a vehicle before officers arrived, according to a press release from the Irving Police Department.At approximately 9:00 a.m., officers located the vehicle with Aldazabal inside, parked in a lot in the 2800 block of W Irving Blvd. He was taken into custody without incident.
