Recent updates include the expansion of downtown street closures starting August 26, as part of the TxDOT road construction project, with completion expected by September 30. Additionally, a budget simulation tool has been made available online for residents to provide feedback. Council member inquiries addressed mowing schedules in drainage areas, repairs to damaged stop signs and potholes, and the current number of vape and smoke shops in the city.
Lennar unveils Foree Ranch in Providence Village
Lennar recently held a grand opening for Foree Ranch, a new master-planned community in Providence Village with 1,450 homesites. Residences will come from Lennar’s Classic, Cottage, Watermill and Wellton single-family home collections with one- and two-story layouts. Homes will be priced from the mid-$200,000s, range from 1,025 to 2,448 square feet and have two to four bedrooms and two to three baths.

SWAT 2024 Was a Home Run
On Wednesday, August 14, over 600 new Patriots arrived on University Hill for Move-In Day. Over 100 upperclassmen volunteered to help the new students move into residence halls before the Student Welcome and Transition (SWAT) week festivities began. The incoming students were divided into four corps: Lexington, Concord, Yorktown, and Saratoga, each led by upperclassmen small group leaders and corps captains. They competed in events ranging from chant-offs to music performances, sports competitions, and other games to be crowned SWAT champions at the end of the week.
