    ATV rider injured when ejected north of Hillman

    A Woodbury resident was injured June 30 after being ejected from an ATV north of Hillman near Platte Lake.

    At about 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 30, the Morrison County Sheriff's Office responded to the crash scene on South Platte Lake Drive, approximately 10 miles north of Hillman in Richardson Township.

    Madison Nystel, 19 of Woodbury, was driving the ATV and lost control of the vehicle on a dirt road and was ejected from the ATV, according to the Morrison County Sheriff's Office.Nystel was airlifted by North Air Care to North Memorial Hospital with unknown injuries, the Sheriff's Office stated.The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Hillman Area Response Team, North Air Care and Onamia Ambulance.Sheriff Shawn Larsen said the crash serves as a reminder to those on vehicles such as ATVs to be mindful of their safety."This is an unfortunate event and serves as a reminder of the importance of safety when operating ATV’s. Please follow the traffic laws and be familiar with the equipment that you are operating," Larsen said."We want ATV riding to remain a safe and enjoyable activity for everyone. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victim," Larsen concluded.
