Everest High School graduate receives SFSU Presidential Scholarship
Getting your Trinity Audio player ready... A recent Everest High School graduate has received the Presidential Scholarship from San Francisco State University. According to San Francisco State University’s website, the scholarship is given to four students upon entering the freshman cohort. It is based on academic performance, leadership contributions, and service activities during high school. It is primarily focused on first-generation, low-income students from the San Francisco Bay Area.

San Jose man dies amid Bay Area heat wave
A Man in San Jose died amid a heat wave in the Bay Area, Mayor Matt Mahan said on Wednesday. Mahan posted on social media that a homeless man died on Tuesday due to the heat. "This was an avoidable tragedy and exactly why we’re moving with urgency to create enough basic, dignified shelter for everyone — it’s not compassionate to leave people suffering in unmanaged, unsheltered and unsafe conditions. We’ll be keeping our cooling centers open late through July 9th — please help spread the word," Mahan said in a statement.

Motorcylist Killed Monday Evening When Bike Crashes Into Guard Rail On Hwy 1
A motorcyclist was killed earlier this week when they rammed into a guard rail in Half Moon Bay, according to the California Highway Patrol. At about 7:30 p.m. Monday, the motorcyclist was traveling south on state Highway 1 near Bayhill Road when they failed to negotiate a curve and hit a guard rail.
