HILLSDALE COUNTY — Week 1 is officially in the books! It's time to vote for the Reader's Choice Player of the Week.

While only two teams won in the opening games of the season, there's plenty of standout efforts to highlight from across the county.

More: 8-player football takeaways: High scoring offensive outings offset by defensive woes

One player from each team will be nominated for the reader's choice polls each week. Coaches' nominations will be considered each week first, followed by our own selections. Players who have won the previous week will not be eligible for the next voting poll, and a different player must be nominated. If the same school wins two polls in a row, they will not be eligible for the next week's poll.

In addition to the reader's choice poll, the Hillsdale Daily News will select its own 8-player and 11-player football POTW honoree, for a potential total of three honorees in a given week. The HDN honorees can come from the same school, or be the same player, during a given week depending on the results and performances.

This poll closes exactly at 11:59 p.m. (ET). Readers can vote multiple times.
