Five people hospitalized, two airlifted after vehicle crash in Carroll County

HILLSVILLE, Va. ( WFXR )– The Hillsville Fire Department reports five people were hospitalized after a vehicle crash on Monday, June 24.

According to the fire department , crews were dispatched at 11:07 a.m. to the intersection of Sylvatus Hwy and Beaver Dam Rd for a vehicle accident. Crews arrived and found two vehicles were involved in the crash, with one rolled over off the roadway.

Crews reported all occupants were able to get out of the vehicles, however, two helicopters were called to the scene called to the scene for two patients due to their injuries. They also say Carroll County Fire and Rescue took three additional patients to a local hospital.

The fire department says Virginia State Police and the Hillsville Police Department are investigating the crash.
