Mother charged after she bit child, leaving brusies

HINTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A mother is in jail after she allegedly bit her child, leaving bruises, while intoxicated.

On June 5th, 2024, Hinton Police was made aware of an incident that occurred on the night of June 2nd and the morning of June 3rd at 1420 Walnut Street in Hinton, WV, involving the abuse of a child.

Following this, the police contacted CPS and learned that there was an open case.

On June 7th, the officer was informed that the mother had canceled the forensic interview for the child. On the same day, the officer visited 1200 Walnut Street and spoke with a witness who reported that the mother, Keeley Dylane Harvey, had left the child with bruises on her arms, allegedly caused by the mother biting her.

CPS was called again, and the child was removed and taken to REACHH CAC for a forensic interview, where the child reiterated the accusation of being bitten by her mother while she was intoxicated.

Photographs of bruises consistent with bite marks were taken, and CPS found placement for the child away from the accused’s custody.

All incidents occurred in the City of Hinton, WV. Harvey is charged with child abuse with injury. She is being held in Southern Regional Jail under a 10,000 dollar bond.
