CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Downtown Cheyenne resembled a slideshow Saturday morning as generations of Wyoming history and culture rolled down Capitol Avenue. Thousands of residents and visitors lined up along streets downtown to catch a glimpse of the first Cheyenne Frontier Days Grand Parade, which commenced at 9 a.m. near the Wyoming State Capitol. Wyoming’s rich tapestry of culture and history were on full display as marching bands, cowboys, military personnel and elected officials traversed downtown on foot, horseback, bicycles, carriages and vintage 20th century vehicles.

Protest Supporting Wild Horses Planned Monday
ROCK SPRINGS – A protest aiming to bring awareness to wild horse captures by the Bureau of Land Management is taking place Monday. The Wild Horse Freedom Rally begins at 11 a.m. at the wild horse viewing area on Lionkol Road off of Elk Street. The group will march or form a vehicle caravan to the BLM’s Rock Springs Field Office on Highway 191 North, with the group planning to protest in front of the building. The protest at the building is expected to last between 30 minutes and an hour.
RSPD Identifies Juveniles Involved in Auto Thefts
ROCK SPRINGS – The Rock Springs Police Department responded to multiple stolen vehicle calls recently and have identified the juveniles involved. According to the RSPD, the calls came from the Presidential Streets area of the city and the stolen vehicles would be later found in Arthur Park. A resident posted a video of two minors attempting to gain access to their vehicles on Facebook, which gave detectives information about the identity of the minors. A pattern in the thefts was identified, which allowed the RSPD to set up night-time surveillance of the park, which led to the successful identification of the minors.

City places lien on W. 13th St. property after house demolition
CASPER, Wyo. — The owner of a property on West 13th Street owes the City of Casper more than $12,000. During its regular meeting Tuesday, the Casper City Council authorized placement of a lien for no more than $12,105 against the property at 1342 W. 13th St. for costs relating to asbestos testing and demolition.
