Dave Portnoy’s pizza festival is coming and 8 joints are from NJ
If pizza were a nation, Barstool Sports’ Dave Portnoy would be its president. When it comes to pizza Portnoy might arguably be the most important man on the planet. His reviews can make or break a pizza shop. I had some hometown pride myself when he went to Nancy’s Town House in Rahway (I was born and raised there) and gave it an 8.8. He also loved the atmosphere inside but as almost always did his review standing just outside.

Plans for a massive new nightclub in Greenpoint — which would stay open until 4 a.m. and hold up to 1,000 partygoers — are drawing fierce backlash from local officials and residents, who fear it will ruin the rhythm of the trendy neighborhood. Hospitality giant Tao Hospitality Group, which operates popular party spots Marquee in Chelsea and Loosie’s Nightclub in Lower Manhattan, is eyeing waterfront space overlooking the East River for a “new entertainment concept.” The proposed venue at 25 Franklin St. was previously the industrial site of the short-lived ArtsDistrict Brooklyn and, before that,...
