HOBOKEN, NJ- The Macy’s Fireworks returned to the Hudson River on July 4th for the first time in ten years.

There were five barges on the water with 60,000 shells to light up the sky. Hoboken’s viewpoints provided an unobstructed view of the Hudson River and the New York City skyline.

Many people camped out in lawn chairs or walked along the waterfront. The southernmost barge lined up with 5th Street, near Sinatra Park.

With people flocking to the waterfront for the best view in their droves, Councilwoman Tiffanie Fisher took to X to thank the public safety teams for making the event “so safe and enjoyable.” Fisher also stated in her tweet: “For 2025: waterfront fixed, partner with HBA to promote businesses” and work with the various public transport services “so visitors and workers get home earlier.”
