Locals made their mark in the state and beyond this spring in high school girls outdoor track. Lily MacDonald of Norwell (triple jump) and Maya Ashu of Stoughton (javelin) produced the area's top finishes at the New England championships with each placing second. Carver's Carly Peterson tied for 9th in the high jump at New Englands, Oliver Ames' Lavender Kozaka was 13th in the long jump and 16th in the 100 meters, and OA's 4x800m relay finished 8th.

Mississippi State 2024 baseball signee Conrad Cason has been selected in the 8th round of the 2024 Major League Baseball draft by the Boston Red Sox with pick #237. Cason is a player who has received interest from pro clubs throughout his senior season. An injury hampered some of his play during the '24 season, but not enough to fall in the eyes of big league scouts.

New leadership for Quincy High football: 2024 Presidents schedule
After a tumultuous offseason, the Quincy High football program is hoping that new coach Ed DeWitt can bring some stability. DeWitt is a 2004 Quincy High graduate and is a member of the Quincy/North Quincy Football Hall of Fame. He coached at Oliver Ames for the past five seasons. The Tigers were 1-9 last season and 4-7 in 2022. DeWitt began his coaching career with the Quincy Point Panthers youth program. He also served as an assistant at Division 3 Curry College in Milton from 2010-12.

SEEKONK, Mass. — For the first time in a long time, Bobby Pelland III was celebrating in Seekonk Speedway Victory Lane on Saturday night in a Late Model. Pelland rolled to the lead quickly in the second round of the Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series, but he had to work for it. Luke Lebrun put up a fierce charge over the final laps, taking the top spot from Pelland on lap 20. From there, the two battled hard for many of the remaining circuits, knowing a spot in the Triple Crown finals was on the line.
