Smoking materials sparked fatal Revere fire, officials say
A Monday morning fire in Revere that left an 80-year-old man dead likely started with smoking materials, fire officials announced. Revere firefighters went to 104 Patriot Parkway around 5:45 a.m. Monday after neighbors heard smoke alarms sounding, Revere Fire Chief Christopher P. Bright, Revere Police Chief David J. Callahan, State Fire Marshal Jon M. Davine and Suffolk County District Attorney Kevin R. Hayden said in a joint statement.
