HOLLAND — Ownership has confirmed Jackie's Place will serve its final meals Friday, Aug. 2.

The restaurant announced the closure Saturday, July 27, on social media.

More: Jackie's Place may close after purchase by DeBoer Bakkerij

“Serving the community for 40 years was only a dream when owner Ken Kragt was fresh out of college,” the post read. “Thank you all for the support, memories and love to make the dream come true.”

Business leaders earlier this month confirmed DeBoer Bakkerij has purchased the restaurant at 541 W. 17th St. in Holland. Owners have been tight-lipped about plans for the space, and representatives for Jackie's Place previously refused to comment on whether the business would close.

According to Saturday's post, the restaurant will be open 6 a.m.-1 p.m. until Friday. There will be coffee and a time to say goodbye from 8-11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3.

Jackie's Place, family-owned and operated for close to four decades, specializes in affordable, home-cooked meals — particularly breakfast.

DeBoer’s, too, is well-known in Holland. The bakery and restaurant has two locations: 360 Douglas Ave. on the northside and 380 W. 16th St. on the southside. The latter less than a half mile from Jackie's Place.
