Patriot Place July 4th Celebration Tonight
By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – The Patriot Place July 4th celebration is tonight. Enjoy live music on the Dean College Stage from local band American Honey from 5:30pm – 8:30pm. Fireworks are scheduled to start at about 9:15pm. There will also be special appearances by Pat Patriot, the New England Patriots Cheerleaders and the New England Revolution Street Team. Meanwhile on Thursday night, July 4, the Holliston American Legion and VFW posts are hosting a laser light show from about 8:30pm to 10pm at Holliston High School.
Holliston Lions Induct 2024 – 2025 Officers
Lions Clubs year starts on July 1 and ends on June 30 of the following year. The Holliston Lions Club brings their nominations to the Board of Directors in March of the fiscal year. Once accepted by the Board, the nominees are then voted by the Lions Club membership at their April Meeting. Once this is accomplished, the new officers are sworn in at the May meeting. At the June meeting “the passing of the torch” occurs. Here’s the slate of officers for the 2024 – 2025 Lions year:
MetroWest Medical Center Employees Donate 976 Pounds of Breakfast Foods to Food Bank
Thank you to all MetroWest Medical Center team members who supported the United Way of Tri County, a GBFB satellite located in Framingham, in our Annual ‘Healthy Over Hungry’ Cereal Drive! For some children, it can be challenging to ensure children have access to breakfast over the summer, and the Cereal Drive is one way to support kids during this time. Our donations will go to families living in our communities we serve. Because of your efforts, we donated 976 pounds of breakfast foods to the Food Bank. Some fun was had this Cereal Drive, we held a competition between departments and here are the team winners:

Josiah Moyer has recently joined MetroWest Medical Center as Director for Facilities and Support Services. As the department director, three areas fall to Josiah’s responsibility: Facilities (all things buildings and grounds); Cleanliness (as the Director for the Housekeeping department); and Security (as the contract client over the security contract with Allied Security). In his role, he makes sure that the building presents well, and is a safe, clean and attractive space that meets all the required codes and standards required by the Joint Commission, City, State and any other regulatory bodies. Josiah makes sure that all the items a building provides to patients, staff and visitors are always available, such as air conditioning, heat, water, power, medical gases and other important resources.

Hopkinton Residents Deny Illegal Food Sales Amid Crackdown
By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – Some people accused of illegally selling food out of their homes in Hopkinton are insisting they didn’t do it. Last month the Health Department sent cease and desist letters to several residents that were apparently selling food without a permit. The Hopkinton Independent reports most of them have stopped but two claim to be falsely accused. The Health Director tells the paper if the town doesn’t crack down and someone gets sick from improperly stored or prepared food, the town can be sued.
Franklin’s July 4th Celebration Begins Tomorrow with Five Days of Festivities

The Franklin July 4th Coalition says you can enjoy food, rides, games and more on the Town Common from Wednesday July 3 through Sunday July 7. It includes the annual Franklin Blues Festival on Saturday from Noon to 10pm. And there will also be fireworks starting at 10pm Saturday at the high school.
