LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Ingham County Sheriff Department officials say two teenagers were “apprehended” early Thursday morning after fleeing an apartment complex in Delhi Township.

The teens were breaking into cars in the parking area of South Square Apartments, 2455 Aurelius Rd in Holt when a person saw them, according to the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office. The two were allegedly breaking into cars and when chased by the person they allegedly pointed a gun at him.

Deputies detained two boys, a 16-year-old from Holt and a 17-year-old from Lansing, around 4:30 a.m. Thursday.

Sherriff officials say a flare gun was recovered during the search for the two teen males.

Capt. Andrew Daenzer of the Ingham County Sheriff’s Department tells 6 News the two teen males may have had two other people involved in the car break-ins for a total of four suspects involved in the activity.

Daenzer says anyone with information about the breakings to call the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office at 517-676-8202.
