77 physicians-to-be receive their white coats in a state in need of doctors
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A group of 77 medical students had their first rite of passage on their journey to become physicians in a state in desperate need of them. “We’re about 700 physicians short of what we would ideally need, but we are moving mountains to try to train more doctors for the state of Hawaii,” said Dr. Sam Shomaker, dean of the John A. Burns School of Medicine.
