Dubuque Police Report Increased Gunfire Incidents
During the initial half of 2024, Dubuque, Iowa, has witnessed a surge in reported criminal gunfire incidents. Since the beginning of the year, authorities have documented nine such occurrences. This number surpasses the entire count of seven from the previous year. It also exceeds the two cases noted in the same period in 2023 and the six from 2022’s first half.
Dubuque woman hits house near Arboretum
Police said a woman sustained possible injuries this week when her vehicle struck a house near Dubuque Arboretum & Botanical Gardens. 81-year-old Kimberly Kintzle of Dubuque, sustained possible injuries in the crash but did not require transport by ambulance to an area hospital. The incident occurred at about 1:15 p.m. Thursday along Arboretum Court. A crash report states that Kintzle told officers she was leaving the arboretum when her brakes failed and she exited the roadway. As she exited the roadway, she struck a decorative water fountain before driving over a nearby driveway and striking a house.
Dubuque man arrested for enticing girl to send explicit videos
Dubuque police said a man sent explicit photos of himself in exchange for explicit videos of a girl under age 16. 22-year-old Daniel Lampers of Dubuque was arrested at 8:31 p.m. Saturday in the 900 block of Kane Street on a warrant charging sexual exploitation of a minor, enticing a minor under age 16 for a sexual purpose and dissemination and exhibition of obscene material to a minor. Court documents state that police began investigating Lampers after being contacted by the girls’ mother in October. Investigators determined that Lampers and the girl began exchanging explicit photos and videos in July through SnapChat.
Dubuque Man Charged With Murder Found Competent Again
A District Court Judge has once again said a Dubuque man charged in the murder of his mother is competent to stand trial. Yesterday Judge Thomas Bitter denied a defense motion for 28-year old Tyler Dazey to be ruled incompetent to stand trial in the death of 46-year old Jennifer Dazey in January at the home they shared on Avoca Street.
