Valley Blue Sox to host ‘Bark in the Park’ this week

HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – The Valley Blue Sox will host ‘Bark in the Park’ on Thursday, July 18, aiming to raise funds for the Foundation for TJO Animals.

Sponsored by The Good Dog Spot, the event is supporting the Thomas J. O’Connor Animal Shelter.

Fans are invited to bring their dogs to McKenzie Stadium for just $5 per dog, with a limit of one dog per person. To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, all dogs must be on non-retractable leashes, and owners are required to fill out a waiver prior to arrival. The waiver can be accessed on the Blue Sox app or the team’s website.

The first attendees will receive free doggie swag bags, adding to the excitement of the evening. Gates at McKenzie Stadium will open at 5:30 p.m., with the first pitch against the Bristol Blues scheduled for 6:35 p.m.

This event offers a unique opportunity for baseball fans and dog lovers alike to enjoy a game while supporting a good cause. Proceeds will benefit animals in need at the Thomas J. O’Connor Animal Shelter, providing much-needed resources and care.
