A lottery player in Union County won $1,000,000 in the Friday, Aug. 16, Mega Millions drawing.

The winning ticket was sold at Basic Food Mart in Union, 498 Chestnut St. The winning numbers were: 22, 38, 48, 51 and 61, with 5 as the Gold Megaball.

Players can pick six numbers from two separate pools of numbers ― five different numbers from 1 to 70 (the white balls) and one number from 1 to 25 (the gold Mega Ball) ― or select Easy Pick/Quick Pick. Players win the jackpot by matching all six winning numbers in a drawing. Drawings are held at 11 p.m. ET Tuesdays and Fridays at 11 p.m. and can be streamed online. Visit www.megamillions.com .
