While wood looks fantastic on its own, there are some techniques to accent around it, so that it reaches its ultimate potential.

'When styling around wood, it's important to strike a balance between highlighting its natural beauty and creating a cohesive and harmonious space,' Lichtenstein says.

She continues, 'To prevent the space from feeling too heavy or dark, balance the warmth of wood with lighter colors and materials. Incorporate plenty of natural light through strategically placed windows or skylights to illuminate the space and enhance the beauty of the wood.'

Alternatively, textured wood can provide the visual interest that the aforementioned features would. As we can see in Gisele's kitchen, the rest of the space is quite minimal, featuring a white backsplash and simple wood shelf, which allow the cabinets to shine.

The uniformity of the wood in Gisele's kitchen, such as the cabinets, the countertops, and the shelf, creates a seamless nature that Lichtenstein says is encouraged in a natural kitchen.
