Homestead, FL - Homestead police have arrested a homeless man following a drug-induced carjacking at knifepoint.

Authorities say the suspect, identified as 26-year-old Leandre Snow, approached the victim outside a Home Depot on South Dixie Highway on Friday, brandished a knife, and forced the victim to drive south on US-1.

The carjacking escalated when Snow assaulted the victim and stole his vehicle.

The victim regained consciousness with the help of a bystander and called 911 for assistance.

Responding officers spotted the stolen vehicle and attempted to pull it over, but Snow fled and crashed the vehicle into a parked car on West Palm Drive.

Officers took Snow into custody and recovered the knife believed to be used in the carjacking.

Snow reportedly admitted to being under the influence of drugs at the time of the carjacking and robbery.

He was taken to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on felony charges of robbery and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
