WATCH: In-state star Laron Dues shines at WVU Football camp
Hurricane (WV) athlete Laron Dues showed up to West Virginia's second one-day camp of the summer, and put on quite a show. On both sides of the ball, in fact. The 2026 prospect was originally listed as a defensive back, but began the day with the wide receivers. After a strong performance there, he then went over to work with defensive back coach ShaDon Brown in the secondary. Several road closures announced for eventful downtown Charleston weekend
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WCHS) — With events taking over Charleston all weekend long, the city on Thursday announced several road closures drivers should be prepared for. The Live on the Levee concert series will continue this weekend and will shut down several roads on Friday, while the Rainbow Run 5k is set for Saturday morning which will also cause closures. Outdoor dining and Foam at the Dome are set to run all weekend, according to a news release from the City of Charleston.

Wendy Summers, the owner of Summer Hollow Pottery, makes handmade pottery. She grew up in southern Maryland’s Chesapeake Bay region. Having come from a family with a strong matriarchal tradition of handcrafting, it was no surprise when Wendy entered a well-known New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred to study sculpture and art. It was as a sculpting student that Wendy Summers discovered her passion for making pottery. After receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Alfred University, Wendy moved to West Virginia to pursue her graduate study in ceramics at West Virginia University, and as she put it, learn how to throw pots. At West Virginia University she concentrated on developing her throwing, firing, and glazing techniques.
