HOMEWOOD, Ala. ( WIAT ) – A local, private gym is celebrating a unique honor. CheerPro Training in Homewood was recently chosen as favorite day camp by more than 40,000 Birmingham Parent Magazine readers.

Crissy Jo Carson is the owner and founder of CheerPro Training. She joined the CBS 42 Morning News on Saturday to talk about this recognition.

“We really treat our clients like friends and family,” Carson said, “We’re also faith based, so everything that we do from the ground up we want our girls to know the name of Jesus and know about him especially in our camps. That’s our main focus of our camps.”

Carson said the business offers more than learning how to cheer or tumble. Last year, CheerPro hosted its first summer camp, which includes daily devotionals, praise and worship.

“That’s kind of our main focus and I think because of that God’s really blessed the business and our families are really drawn to us because we really do try to do everything better – not just the cheer camp, we’re really investing in the lives of these young athletes,” Carson said.

Carson said the best way to learn about summer camps and classes is to look at CheerPro Training’s Website . Open enrollment for the fall goes live on July 14 at 8:30 p.m.
