Woman struck, killed crossing Route 224 in Poland
An 87-year-old Poland woman died on Sunday after being struck by a car as she was walking across Route 224. State Troopers say Rita Barbush was crossing the highway near Diana Drive when a Toyota Camry struck her at 9:30 p.m. Sunday. Barbush died at the scene of the crash. Dispatchers told 21 News the woman's son was dropping her off across the street from her home. Barbush then went to walk across the road and was struck by the car.
