Flash flood warning for Berks County until Thursday night
The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning at 8:29 p.m. on Thursday in effect until 11:30 p.m. for Berks County. “At 8:29 p.m., Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 0.5 to 1 inch in 1 hour. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly,” according to the weather service. “This includes Interstate 176 in Pennsylvania near mile marker 11.”
