Teen killed, 3 injured after stolen car runs red light, causing crash in Montgomery County
A teenager died and three others were injured Monday morning after a crash involving a stolen car in Montgomery County.It happened around 5 a.m. at the intersection of Stenton and E. Evergreen avenues in Springfield Township, Pennsylvania.Officers responded to the scene for reports of a two-car crash with passengers trapped inside the vehicles.At the scene, authorities found a 15-year-old who had been ejected from one of the cars. The teen was pronounced dead at the scene.Two passengers who were in the same car as the teenager were removed by emergency crews. They were transported to Jefferson Einstein Montgomery where their conditions are unknown.Another person in the other vehicle was transported to Jefferson Abington Hospital in an unknown condition.According to police, a white 2014 Infiniti QX80 was traveling on Stenton Avenue when it collided with a red 2020 Hyundai Elantra, which had gone through a red light.Police also said the Hyundai was reported stolen out of Philadelphia.There is no word yet on the Hyundai's driver or whether charges have been filed.The Springfield Township Police Department is investigating the crash. Anyone with information is asked to contact the police at 215-836-1601.

Temple University police K9 passes away due to medical condition
A Temple University police K9 passed away due to a medical condition on Sunday.The Temple Public Safety Facebook page posted the announcement, writing in part, "It is with extreme sadness and a heavy heart we announce K9 Chandler passed away today due to a medical condition."The dog was 10 years old and had served the Temple community for six years, officers say.There is no word yet on what the medical condition in this case was.K9 Chandler worked with his handler, Temple Police Officer Natalie Sherman, every day, according to the post.Officers described Chandler as selfless, brave, and a dedicated dog who spent most of his life in public service and community outreach."He was also a special member of our department family and holds a beloved place in all our hearts," the Facebook announcement read. "Please keep K9 Chandler and Police Officer Sherman in your thoughts and prayers."A formal memorial service is expected to be announced next week.
