HONOLULU (KHON2) — The Honolulu Fire Department responded to a 911 call early Saturday morning reporting a house fire near 98-873 Hapuu Street.

The call came in at 3:21 a.m., prompting nine HFD units staffed with approximately 34 personnel to rush to the scene. The first unit arrived at 3:28 a.m. and encountered a one-level single family home fully engulfed in smoke and flames.

Firefighters swiftly secured multiple water supplies and initiated a defensive fire attack. They used multiple engine-mounted master streams and hand lines to address the blaze from all sides, ensuring neighboring properties were protected.

A primary and secondary search of the residence confirmed there were no occupants inside. The fire was brought under control by 4:15 a.m. and completely extinguished by 4:54 a.m.

Due to the fire, six individuals ranging in age from 14 to 79 were displaced. The American Red Cross of Hawaii was contacted to provide assistance to those affected.

All HFD personnel involved in the operation were accounted for, and there were no reports of injuries.
