Robinson, who began his FBS career at East Carolina, transferred to Hawaii prior to the 2023 season.

Coming off a year in which he had 25 tackles and three sacks, Robinson is looking to be counted on to be an impact player in first-year defensive coordinator Dennis Thurman’s new scheme.

With an additional year of college ball he wasn’t certain he would be able to have until recently, Robinson enters the fall with nothing to lose.

“Getting out there and just putting out what I put out last year just showed myself, I am capable of doing what I’ve always said I could do,” Robinson said following a recent practice. “And just knowing that it’s possible to reach all of my goals that I’ve ever had. Just this season coming in, it’s like, you know what? It’s all on the line. All money on the table, betting on myself and just going to go out there with coach Dennis Thurman coming in and implementing just his game was like, this is what I’ve been waiting for. This is what I’ve been looking for my whole career.

“It just feels good to step into my last season just knowing that I’m in a defense that I’ve always wanted to play and compete in and just being given the opportunity to just go out there and just be myself.”
