PLANO – A suspect is in police custody and has been charged with murder after a man was found dead Tuesday in Plano. Plano police and fire responded to the call at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday about a person who was dead, in the 4600 block of Bending Oak Trail in Plano. The man, 69-year-old Patrick King, was in the backyard of the home to which police were called, said Jennifer Chapman with the Plano Police Department. The suspect, 39-year-old Andrew James Swetland, was arrested at 5:30 a.m. at DFW International Airport and has been charged with murder. Swetland's sister is King's daughter-in-law, according to police. Plano PD said the shooting was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the community.

BEDFORD — The gas leak that prompted HEB ISD to evacuate Meadow Creek Elementary School Thursday morning has been stopped. The Fire Department is in the process of double-checking gas levels at the school, apartments and restaurant before reopening Harwood Drive. Once complete, westbound lanes will be fully open; eastbound will have one lane open.    CBS News Texas Chopper was overhead as teachers and staff walked the elementary students across the street to Harwood Junior High. The city of Bedford said that a contractor hit a 4-inch gas line nearby, and the district decided to evacuate Meadow Creek out of an abundance of caution. The district told parents that they did not need to take any action.A nearby apartment complex was also evacuated. The gas leak happened near the corner of Harwood Drive and Park Avenue in a largely residential area. Atmos Energy said in a statement crews were on the scene to make repairs. Harwood Drive has been closed between Park Avenue and Martin Drive while repairs were underway.
