Warmington Concerned About Sununu’s ‘Unilateral’ Action Reducing Hospital Medicaid Reimbursements
CONCORD – Executive Councilor and Democratic gubernatorial candidate Cinde Warmington said she is very concerned about the future financial health of the state’s 26 hospitals and the “unilateral action” taken by outgoing Republican Gov. Chris Sununu to reduce federal return tax payments to them by $35 million a year for the next decade.

JSRHS offers freshman transition program
Knowing that the transition between middle and high school is a significant milestone in a young person’s life, John Stark Regional High School is offering a program specifically designed for incoming freshmen. We are John Stark! is a two-week program designed to provide an introduction to the school, continued practice and development of executive functioning, collaborative and other academic skills, as well as key social/emotional competencies. It is ideal for any incoming ninth-grade student looking to sharpen skills, engage in collaborative learning experiences, become familiar with our work-study practices and school norms, and have fun. Students who have struggled in eighth grade are especially encouraged to participate in the program in order to best prepare for a successful transition to high school. Upon successful completion of this program, students will earn 10 service learning hours.

PORTSMOUTH — A Press Room patron is charged with a stabbing inside the 48-year-old downtown bar and music venue June 22, police said Tuesday. Jazmin Diaz Barrientos, 23, of Newmarket, is charged with second degree assault, two counts of criminal threatening with a deadly weapon and reckless conduct, all Class B felonies.
