Sodbusters Down Fremont And Take Series
Hastings, Nebraska- The Hastings Sodbusters handed the Fremont Moo a 14-4 defeat Thursday night at Duncan Field. Hastings won the final two games of the three game series. After a scoreless first inning, Fremont plated three runs in the top of the second. Against Hastings starter Cohen Evans, Fremont’s Isaac Bonner led off with a single. Two batters later, Grant Nottleman was hit by a pitch. Two wild pitches would eventually bring Bonner around to score, making it 1-0. After Jack Torosian drew a walk, Carson Burnett doubled, scoring Nottleman, to make it a 2-0 Fremont lead. The next batter, Carter Sintek, grounded out to short, scoring Torosian, and Fremont led 3-0.
Sodbusters battle back from 4-run deficit to beat Moo
HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - The Hastings Sodbusters hosted their second home game of their current series with the Fremont Moo on Wednesday. After going down 4-0, the Sodbusters scored three runs in the bottom of the second to trim the deficit to one. Hastings capped off its offensive performance with three runs in the eighth, allowing just one in the ninth to inevitably win 9-8.
Moo begin final homestand of year with two games against Prospect
Fremont, NE - The Moo continue their playoff push with the final five home games of the season, including a two-game set with the Nebraska Prospects beginning Friday. Fremont (26-16, 13-5 second half) enters the series needing wins, after dropping two of three to the Hastings Sodbusters in a road series. The Prospects (6-20, 1-10) are not eligible for the championship, but have the chance to play spoiler to multiple teams over the final two weeks of the season.
