Two motorcyclists injured in Hooper collision
HOOPER, Utah, July 29, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — Two motorcyclists traveling together were thrown from their bikes Sunday night when they collided. The incident happened at about 9:46 a.m. in the Hooper intersection of 5100 West and 4074 South, a statement from the Weber County Sheriff‘s Office says.
Roy mayor wants Ogden Airport moved
ROY, Utah — After a plane crashed into the yard of a Roy home last Wednesday, Roy City Mayor Robert Dandoy said he wants to see the Ogden Airport moved. According to Dandoy, plane crashes are not uncommon in Roy. In 2020, a plane crash damaged two homes. In 2017, there was a crash on one of the city’s major roadways. Both of those crashes were fatal.

Bicyclist hit, killed by dump truck in Ogden
OGDEN — One person was killed in a crash involving a dump truck in Ogden Monday morning. Lt. Will Farr with the Ogden Police Department said a man in his 30s was crossing 12th Street at Wall Avenue when he was struck by an Ace Recycling dump truck. The driver of the dump truck, a man in his 50s, did not see the bicyclist as he turned right onto 12th Street, according to police.

SALT LAKE CITY — He may have been small, but his story took the internet by a large storm. The tiny orange kitten became a household name for many Utahns, even a year later. The kitten, Tater Tot, was rescued. His foster mom, Ash Houghton said he had four deformed legs and a cleft palate. His chances of survival on the street were basically none and were slim even in foster care.
Gov. Spencer Cox appoints public defender to opening on 4th District Court bench
Howell was selected from a field of five nominees to fill a vacancy in 4th District Court, which covers Wasatch, Utah, Juab and Millard counties. Gov. Spencer Cox announced the appointment on Friday, July 26. If confirmed by the Utah Senate, Howell will fill the vacancy left by Judge Robert Lund when he retires in January.
