Utah Youth Soccer Club Wins Back-To-Back National Championships
SALT LAKE CITY – For the second year in a row, the Utah Celtic U16 FC rose above the rest to claim the USYS National Championship. Last year, Utah dominated the SC Wave in the final, 5-1, to win the club’s second-ever national championship. What’s better than a...
Jazz could reject Warriors and others in shocking 180 degree Lauri Markkanen twist
It feels like the NBA world is awaiting an outcome on All-Star forward Lauri Markkanen, with the Golden State Warriors having been the most prominent team in trade discussions with the Utah Jazz over recent weeks. The Warriors still appear a fair way from being able to land Markkanen, unless...
50 years later, a reunion between the boy who died and the man who brought him back
TAYLORSVILLE — Fifty years ago this month, deep in the forest in the High Uintas wilderness area, 11-year-old Scott Nicol lay dead at the bottom of a Spring Bar tent as his Boy Scout leader, 23-year-old Fred Jepsen, kneeled next to him. Fifty years later, they're sitting in the...
Utah Jazz Have Rebranded… AGAIN! This Time It’s AWESOME!
The yellow is dead... well, almost! It was announced two years ago that the Utah Jazz would be rebranding to a whole new look and color scheme. It was maybe the worst decision in the history of the franchise. The jerseys were ugly, plain, and way too minimalist. However, fans like me still bought merchandise and supported the team. Well, two LONG years later, the Utah Jazz have released the first look at their ALL NEW rebrand, and the fans are finally getting back what we've always wanted: PURPLE MOUNTAINS!

ST. GEORGE — A planned expansion for the Tonaquint Cemetery is moving ahead with the recent approval of a construction bid by the City Council. With available space in the original cemetery shrinking, the expansion will add much-needed burial and cremation plots. “We’re pretty excited about this expansion,” Shane...

SALT LAKE CITY — Decades of published research shows that whether it's a brief stroll through a city park or multiple days spent in the wilderness, exposure to nature has positive mental health impacts. A recent study by University of Utah investigators found that spending time in nature —...
Not Too Early Big XII Hoops Predictions: No. 7, BYU
The BYU Cougars will probably be the deepest team in the Big XII, and outside of Houston, no other squad will have as much roster continuity. What they don't have, however, is coaching continuity. Kevin Young takes over for Mark Pope who was poached by Kentucky. Young has next to no college coaching experience but was the associate head coach of the Phoenix Suns in his last stop. Given that the difference between power conference college basketball and the NBA has narrowed dramatically, Young's NBA experience could prove beneficial. However, the college game is far more physical than the NBA--according to no less than Stan Van Gundy--and BYU's downfall last year was a lack of physical and mental toughness. I'm convinced much of BYU's softness traced to Pope, and if Young can instill some toughness in the Cougars, they could go far this season.
Former BYU tight end joins new Utah football team
Devin Mahina, an ex-BYU tight end and former receivers coach at Orem High School, is now the offensive coordinator of the Utah Islanders. Mahina joined David James on Talkin' Sports to talk about this year's BYU quarterback competition, the difference between playing in the Big 12 versus playing an independent schedule, and the debut of the Islanders.

NBA Rumors: Draymond Green sabotages Warriors, Bucks stand pat, Jazz trade stalls
As the NBA offseason continues to unfurl, we have reached a point of relative stasis. The primary free agents are off the board and trade talks have largely stalled, with potential blockbusters hung up by haggling over prospects and draft picks. And yet, there's still plenty of potential movement on the horizon. Front offices don't stop during the Olympics, and we are still months away from preseason basketball.
3 Risers and 2 Fallers From the Utah Jazz's Summer League
The Utah Jazz's Summer League ball just finished this week, and while some say Summer League doesn't matter, it can be a good metric to gauge a franchise's youth. The Jazz played 8 games and had some standouts and some underwhelming performances. In case you missed it, these are the risers and faller from the Summer League.
