Chris Curtis vs. Kevin Holland: Salt Lake City gets middleweight banger for UFC 307
A pair of middleweights who hit more like heavyweights are set to collide this fall at UFC 307. Chris Curtis (31-11 MMA, 5-3 UFC) will take on Kevin Holland (26-11 MMA, 13-8 UFC) at the event expected for Delta Center in Salt Lake City on Oct. 5. People with knowledge of the matchup told MMA Junkie it is set. They spoke on condition of anonymity because the UFC has not formally announced the matchup. Curtis needs to get back on track after a main event loss to Brendan Allen in April. Allen outworked him for a unanimous decision over five rounds in...

Jazz could reject Warriors and others in shocking 180 degree Lauri Markkanen twist
It feels like the NBA world is awaiting an outcome on All-Star forward Lauri Markkanen, with the Golden State Warriors having been the most prominent team in trade discussions with the Utah Jazz over recent weeks. The Warriors still appear a fair way from being able to land Markkanen, unless...
Utah Jazz Have Rebranded… AGAIN! This Time It’s AWESOME!
The yellow is dead... well, almost! It was announced two years ago that the Utah Jazz would be rebranding to a whole new look and color scheme. It was maybe the worst decision in the history of the franchise. The jerseys were ugly, plain, and way too minimalist. However, fans like me still bought merchandise and supported the team. Well, two LONG years later, the Utah Jazz have released the first look at their ALL NEW rebrand, and the fans are finally getting back what we've always wanted: PURPLE MOUNTAINS!

Not Too Early Big XII Hoops Predictions: No. 7, BYU
The BYU Cougars will probably be the deepest team in the Big XII, and outside of Houston, no other squad will have as much roster continuity. What they don't have, however, is coaching continuity. Kevin Young takes over for Mark Pope who was poached by Kentucky. Young has next to no college coaching experience but was the associate head coach of the Phoenix Suns in his last stop. Given that the difference between power conference college basketball and the NBA has narrowed dramatically, Young's NBA experience could prove beneficial. However, the college game is far more physical than the NBA--according to no less than Stan Van Gundy--and BYU's downfall last year was a lack of physical and mental toughness. I'm convinced much of BYU's softness traced to Pope, and if Young can instill some toughness in the Cougars, they could go far this season.
Former BYU tight end joins new Utah football team
Devin Mahina, an ex-BYU tight end and former receivers coach at Orem High School, is now the offensive coordinator of the Utah Islanders. Mahina joined David James on Talkin' Sports to talk about this year's BYU quarterback competition, the difference between playing in the Big 12 versus playing an independent schedule, and the debut of the Islanders.

NBA Rumors: Draymond Green sabotages Warriors, Bucks stand pat, Jazz trade stalls
As the NBA offseason continues to unfurl, we have reached a point of relative stasis. The primary free agents are off the board and trade talks have largely stalled, with potential blockbusters hung up by haggling over prospects and draft picks. And yet, there's still plenty of potential movement on the horizon. Front offices don't stop during the Olympics, and we are still months away from preseason basketball.
