Carter Road Bridge Over Beden’s Brook to be Replaced
On or about July 29, 2024, Mercer County will begin the replacement of the bridge on Carter Road over Beden's Brook in Hopewell Township. This bridge is adjacent to St. Michael’s Preserve. The project is expected to take approximately 9 months, weather permitting. During this time Carter Road traffic will remain open to the traveling public, with alternating traffic control. There will be two 3-day periods when the road will be completely closed to traffic. Be sure to follow all posted detours and slow down in the work area for safety.

Mercer County Parks Hosts “Trenton Talks Basketball Tournament”, Drawing Over 250 Residents
Mercer County Park hosted the first Trenton Talks Basketball Tournament, with a portion of all proceeds going to benefit Trenton’s A Better Way foundation. The tournament brought out over 250 residents from Trenton and surrounding communities. 12 basketball teams competed for top honors. There was also a double-dutch jump rope contest, judged by Skil-Lit Café Owners Robert Wilborn and Dionna Maldonado.

DRJTBC hires engineering firm to assess Washington Crossing Bridge
The fate of the 119-year-old Washington Crossing Toll Supported Bridge remains uncertain. As Upper Makefield officials advance historic preservation efforts ultimately aimed at preventing an overhaul of the span, the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission (DRJTBC) has hired an engineering firm to conduct a multi-year review process that’s intended to help decide if the bridge should be replaced.
Portion of Culver Road to Close for Three Days for Repairs this Week
SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ - A portion of Culver Road will be closed to through traffic for three days for repairs, according to the township. Residents are advised to avoid this part of the roadway and follow all posted detours during this time. Work will begin on Monday at 7:00 AM and will continue for three days, according to a nixle alert. Tre'Devon Lane to be Honored with Street Sign Dedication Ceremony
Trenton, NJ -- On Saturday, July 20th at 11:00 a.m. there will be a street sign dedication ceremony for Tre'Devon Lane at the corner of Kirkbride Ave and New Willow Street. On September 22, 2012, Tre was shot and killed after sacrificing his life to save two young ladies while sitting on his grandmother's porch on New Willow Street. At the time of his death he was 19 years old. Tre' attended Mercer County Community College in West Windsor in pursuit of a degree in social work, while also working part-time as a security guard. He loved basketball and is remembered by his infectious smile.
