    Keep your umbrella handy: Cloudy, rainy weekend in store for the Tri-Cities

    Expect hot weather, high humidity and cloudy skies this weekend, with a high likelihood of showers and thunderstorms on Saturday, and a smaller chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms on Friday and Sunday. The weekend highs will be in the mid to upper 80s in the afternoons and reach nighttime lows of around 70°F.

    Friday July 19: Partly cloudy with a chance of showers

    Friday night: Expect cloudy weather with scattered showers and thunderstorms before 8 p.m., followed by a slight chance of showers between 8 p.m. and 2 a.m. After 2 a.m., there will potentially be more thunderstorms. The chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

    Saturday July 20: Afternoon showers, evening thunderstorms

    • High: 82° (3-4 p.m., feels like 84° due to humidity)
    • Low: 70° (4-5 a.m., feels like 73° due to humidity)
    • Humidity: 86 percent
    • UV Index: High of 5 (considered moderate), sun protection is recommended from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
    • Wind: Wind speeds will be 2 to 6 mph, with gusts up to 14 mph.

    Saturday: Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers, then showers and thunderstorms likely after 2 p.m. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent.

    Sunday July 21: Cloudy with a chance of rain

    • Low: 68° (4-5 a.m., feels like 71° due to humidity)
    • Humidity: 82 percent
    • UV Index: High of 6 (considered high), sun protection is recommended from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
    • Wind: Wind speeds will be 3 to 5 mph, with gusts up to 12 mph.
