    Horseheads Little League exhibit unveiled July 19

    HORSEHEADS, N.Y. (WETM) – A local venue which preserves history is ready to create new memories in baseball.

    The Horseheads Historical Society located at 312 West Broad Street has created a brand new Little League Baseball exhibit. The showcase is dedicated to the rich history of Horseheads Little League and its longstanding tradition of excellence and commitment to the game. Opening night of the exhibit is Friday, July 19 at 5 PM where local baseball fans and visitors can see Horseheads baseball history.

    The opening of the exhibit will continue into Saturday starting at Noon until 5 PM. Horseheads Historical Society will run the tribute to Horseheads Little League for roughly two months which will coincide with the Little League World Series in Williamsport in August. Admission is free and donations will be graciously accepted.

    Several area fans and supporters donated their memorabilia and select baseball items to be displayed for the very first time. Some major names who helped bring the event together are listed below: Chris Wieland, Bob Frost, Don Lister, Jim Ungvarsky, Marty Holton, Ian Tighe, Gregg Driscoll, Ed Kowalski, Kirt Manwaring, Greg Keagle, Christina Kowalski, Rich Wiley, Horseheads Historical Society President Barbara Tighe-Skorszewski, Horseheads Historical Society Treasurer Barb Kurcoba, Horseheads Historical Society Consultant Buddy Peck and more.
