In the only Monday game on the Midwest League schedule, Wisconsin cruised to an 11-1 victory over the Beloit Sky Carp at ABC Supply Stadium. Appleton, WI - After winning the first two games of this week’s series in Appleton against the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, the South Bend Cubs fell in the following four, dropping Sunday afternoon’s game to the Milwaukee Brewers affiliate, 2-1. Right-hander Alexander Cornielle, facing the Cubs for the fifth time in his career, brought some solid stuff to the mound in a winning effort, tossing six shutout innings. Cubs right-hander Ty Johnson surrendered just two runs in four innings, with both tallies coming home on RBI groundouts.

NEENAH – Gus Rieckman tossed a five-inning one-hit shutout to lead the Appleton Post 38 Legion baseball team to a resounding 12-0 win over Neenah on Monday. Rieckman pitched to just one batter over the minimum in the five innings as he did not walk a batter and Appleton (6-7) played flawless defense behind him. He finished with seven strikeouts.
