    Houma man arrested after investigation leads to traffic stop, drug bust

    HOUMA, La. ( WGNO ) — A Houma man has been arrested after allegedly being found in possession of fentanyl-laced heroin, drug paraphernalia and seven guns.

    According to the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office, 43-year-old Aaron Anthony Lampton was arrested in connection with a joint investigation between the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Narcotics Division and Louisiana State Police CID Region 2.

    TPSO officials said Lampton’s arrest took place during a June traffic stop in the 100 block of Roy Street. During the stop, Lampton allegedly tried to discard narcotics and was taken into custody.

    As the investigation continued following the traffic stop, deputies obtained a search warrant for Lampton’s home, where TPSO detectives said they recovered guns, drugs, drug paraphernalia and $3,000 in cash.

    Lampton was arrested and faces the following charges:

    • Possession with the intent to distribute CDS I
    • Illegal possession of a stolen firearm
    • Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
    • Obstruction of justice
    • Transaction involving drug proceeds
    • Possession of drug paraphernalia
    • Insurance/security required
    • Driving under suspension
    • Additional narcotics related arrest warrants

    Lampton is being held at the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex on a $504,500 bond.
