Delaware State Police Investigating Shooting in Milton
Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting that occurred in Milton this morning. On July 22, 2024, at approximately 4:47 a.m., troopers responded to the 14000 block of Collins Street in Milton for a report of a shooting. When troopers arrived, they found a 19-year-old man that had been shot in upper torso and began life-saving efforts. The victim was taken by ambulance to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. The preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was living in a shed on the property when an unknown suspect fired several shots into the shed, hitting the victim.
Shepherd’s Office asking for donations for the homeless
DELAWARE – Families are in need of fund, and in Georgetown, a local organization is facilitating the help for those who are facing the heat on the streets. The Shepherd’s Office provides hospitality for the homeless and the hungry. They give away free food boxes and homemade meals. A familiar face has returned to Milton, with the announcement of Yvette Davenport as the new principal of H.O. Brittingham Elementary School. Previously, Davenport served as HOB assistant principal from December 2018 through June 2021, when she accepted a position as principal of Hartly Elementary in the Capital School District. She takes over for Kyle Bentley, who was named head of school at Sussex Academy.
