    Two from Houston water department receive journeyman status

    During a recent Missouri Rural Water Association (MRWA) ceremony, two City of Houston employees graduated from apprentice to journeyman status.

    Bob Richards and Steve Floyd were among 13 graduates of the MRWA’s 2024 Southwest Missouri Water/Wastewater Apprentice group Friday, Aug. 16 at the Mighty Oak Lodge in Lebanon.

    During the ceremony, those that completed the two-year program received U.S. DOL Journeyman Certificates from Sheets and Jones. In addition to the U.S. DOL certification, the newly promoted journeymen received MRWA Journeyman certification, MRWA Apprenticeship challenge coin and a Journeyman jacket displaying their status.

    Other graduates included Caleb Antle, Cassville; Bryan Hogan, Willow Springs; Jesse Jones, Stockton; Sean MacDonald, Mountain Grove; Chad Muller, Carthage; Stephen “Lance” Piatt, Granby; Augustus Robbins, Cassville; Tyler Shehorn, Cabool; Shawn Smart, Mountain Grove; Cody Stockdale, Carthage; and Scott Yonker, Monett.
