In a world where moments can easily pass unnoticed, Sonie Trotter has achieved something remarkable: 10 years of heartfelt and impactful service with CASA of South Central Missouri.

As she celebrates this significant milestone, her decade-long commitment to advocating for children in the foster care system stands as a testament to the power of dedication and compassion.

Sonie first joined CASA Aug. 21, 2014, fueled by a deep desire to effect positive change in the lives of vulnerable children. Over the years, her tireless advocacy has ensured that the voices of countless children are heard in the courtroom and that their needs are met with kindness and diligence.

“Sonie has been a pillar of support for so many children,” said Kayy Duncan, Sonie’s advocate supervisor. “Her unwavering dedication and empathy have made a profound difference in the lives of those she’s worked with. We are incredibly grateful for her 10 years of service.”

Her impact stretches far beyond her casework. She has been instrumental in CASA’s training programs, generously sharing her knowledge and experiences with new volunteers. Her expertise in navigating the complexities of the legal system, combined with her ability to offer emotional support to children, has set a high standard within the organization.

“The dedication that Sonie has provided to CASA of South Central Missouri over the past decade has been nothing short of inspiring. Her devotion to advocating for the best interests of children in our community has made a lasting impact that will be felt for years to come,” said Amber Stienbarger, executive director.

To honor her 10-year milestone, CASA of South Central Missouri hosted a special celebration at a monthly training event. The gathering, attended by colleagues, community members and those whose lives Sonie has touched, highlighted not only her personal achievements but also the collective efforts of CASA volunteers who strive to give every child a voice.

Her story embodies the essence of CASA’s mission, reflecting a spirit of charity and loyalty that continues illuminating the path toward a brighter future for children in need.

Those interested in becoming a CASA volunteer should contact Kayy Duncan, Texas County advocate supervisor at 417-254-0523 or email kayy.duncan@casascmo.org. For further information, visit www.casascmo.org and follow CASA of South Central Missouri on Facebook.
