Two persons were injured early Saturday afternoon in a crash about five miles north of Houston on U.S. 63, said the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Cpl. Jacob Sellars said a southbound 2019 Ram 2500 towing a camper was struck by a heavy gust of wind that caused the vehicle to travel off the right side of the roadway and overturn near U.S. 63 and Primrose Drive.

The driver, William T. Byrnes, 66, of Granbury, Texas, was taken with minor injuries to Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston. A passenger, Kiana R. Byrnes, 71, of Granbury, Texas, had moderate injuries and also was transported to the hospital, Sellars said. Both were wearing seat belts. The truck was totaled.

It took more than three hours for camper debris to be picked up. On the scene also were members of the Houston Rural Fire Department and Texas County Sheriff’s Department.
